The section of history of chemistry had existed since the first issue of Chemistry, the articles of history of science were regarded as important as pure scientific ones in this journal. This tradition continued after the new China appeared. The journal Chemistry have a few columns related to history of chemistry such as “history of chemistry”, “chemist”, “chemical philosophy” and so on. Statistically, there are 466 articles related to history of chemistry have been published in Chemistry from 1952 to 2011. This journal has provide an important stage for history of chemistry in China, fostered chemical history interest for many researchers, and made a great contribution to the development of Chinese history of chemistry. |
